Something screwy here

These ten screws are what hold the main frame of the cooler to the PCB, so as you remove them the cooler may start to shift a bit - it won't fall off until we've taken the back plate off, but just be mindful. Each of the ten screws also comes with two little washers underneath them - make sure you don't lose these, since you'll need them to make sure the cooler contacts the core correctly.

Once these screws are removed, place them somewhere out of the way and safe so you don't lose them, and we'll move on to the next step.

I think you mean "Being a Double-Slot card" as opposed to a "Single-Slot card"
