Gamescom 2010: There's more to the show than games - here's a brief look at some of the cool hardware from Arctic Cooling, BitFenix and more that got us drooling...
When we discovered we were attending Gamescom in Cologne (thanks Razer!) we made a decision not to fill our entire trip with appointments to around trying to meet. We did that at E3, and while we did see cool stuff, we also only saw a portion of the show.
So we wanted to approach Gamescom a little differently.
After embarrassing ourselves trying to steal a Blackwidow keyboard by stuffing it down our pants and awkwardly running away (see the things we do for our readers?), Razer tossed us out on the show floor. With nothing else to do, and still in a hardware state of mind, we took out our trusty camera and set about recording some of the cooler bits and pieces we saw amongst the many massive halls of the show.
We found some awesome cases and cooling gear from Taiwanese manufacturer BitFenix (sadly not available locally, but worth looking at), arguably the most over the top racing simulators we've ever seen, and a remote hover drone toy that was nigh impossible to photograph. But we tried.
Don't laugh.
And there's a few other random things we saw that, while not hardware, are at least... wearable.
And we saw something so awesome we're saving it for another article entirely - an awesome 24-hour case modding comp between the four best modding teams in Germany - stay tuned!
