Foxconn serious about motherboard performance

Motherboard giant Foxconn today announced its first proper “enthusiast” motherboard.

Somewhat late to the overclocking game, Foxconn has nevertheless come up with an appealing new board that should win it some attention from those who like to push the volts.

This is a big move for Foxconn, who are a market leader in motherboard production. The company usually distributes through the OEM market, or produces for other companies to rebadge. Stepping out in the hardcore light is a welcome move.

The ‘Quantum Force Mars’ is a P35-based board, and the company claims to have spent time with leading overclockers getting the details just right.

Foxconn claims a remarkable achievable FSB of 535MHz with air. The company is particularly proud of its new ‘Gladiator BIOS’, with an expansive list of voltage options:



One look at the rather large chipset cooler and we see Foxconn is pretty serious about its first foray into hardcoreland. We’re expecting more from Foxconn in the future, they say they’re not just testing the waters, but that this signals a new commitment.
