First look: Gigabyte GA-X38-DQ6 + E6700 @ 4.22GHz water cooled

Intel's hot new X38 chipset has landed, we take it for a spin to see just what it can do.

Today the new X38 based DQ6 was taken for a spin and the new boards seem quite good and very reminiscent of the GA-P35-DQ6, right down to the BIOS layout.

Booting up, the system was set straight to 333*9 - it obliged

Done with this, it was time for 500*6 - again, it was kind towards these settings:

From here it was a stroll on towards 533*6 - all was well:

And finally we tipped the FSB scales at 560*6 - this was 5MHz higher then what was achieved on the P35 based Blitz Formula under similar conditions

Next was on to some frequency fun. No time was wasted and it was straight to 500*8 - swell, it's happy

Going on to max out at 4224MHz (validation) and screenshot taken at 4.2GHz (below) - cheers big ears, twas some fun

To top things off, a pass through wPrime 32M and wPrime 1024M at 4GHz
