June, 2009
Welcome to another packed issue of Atomic.
This month we go all out on one of the most ambitious PC builds we've ever designed. We call it The Ultimate LAN PC - a mini-ATX form factor mobo crammed into a stylish and portable case, and then simply slathered in high-end, enthusiast-grade gear. It's the smallest, most powerful thing we've ever designed, and we share the process with you.
Want to blow away the opposition at your next LAN? This is the box to do it with.
We've also got AMD's latest CPU and ATI's newest video card - one's pretty solid, the other... not so much. There's our usual array of hardware, too, from great gaming mice to keyboards you should stay away from, as well as RAM, cooling gear and new cases and systems.
And for science fans, we've got a special feature on great science prizes. From the DARPA Offraod Challenge to the orbit-busting X-Prize, we run you through the bleeding edge of competitive science.
Finally, on the gaming front, we head west for Call of Juarez 2, get bloody with Wolverine, and try to play Stormrise.
Another great issue - you can't afford to miss it!
