The only decent gaming show in the world returns to ABC 2 at 9PM.
The BBC for some time now has broadcast multiple channels. They are BBC 1, 2, 3 and 4. And they make top notch content, as any connoisseur of British Comedy knows.
Its different channels have a different feel to them, and are programmed with interesting content that caters to niche audiences. They're very good at it, but they got their digital distribution methods dead wrong. Hit up Google and search for their IPlayer controversy for more.
Our own ABC has for some time had ABC2, and last I heard was contemplating putting another channel to air filled with kids' programming.
ABC2 broadcasts some excellent shows, and its flagship is -- by a very long margin -- Good Game, home to the best televised game reviews on the planet. The
American G4TV
has nothing on these guys, who are proper gamers and know what deserves our time.
So if you haven't watched an episode yet, or are an understandably long time fan, you owe it to yourself to watch the first episode (and all the other episodes) of the fourth season, airing tonight (Monday 11th) at 9PM and on Fridays at 11 late on the main ABC channel.
It gets better. The ABC knows how we like our TV. Free. Properly free and downloadable. You can get every episode in joyful, DRM-less MPEG 4 and WMV. If you miss it on the box, or don't have a digital set-top box,
it's a simple download from their site
.
The show has come along in leaps and bounds since its premiere, so all of us at Atomic HQ are looking forward to what the Good Game crew are going to do with their 32 episodes. That's two guaranteed seasons right there, and with the way the broadcast industry works, it's also a sure fire way to tell that they're doing something right.
It's good to see that we, the proper internet generation made up of geeks and gamers, are setting the example of what next generation broadcast media should be.
Highly recommended viewing.
