The third instalment of Red Alert, the ultimate popcorn RTS series, has also been announced. The premise is that Soviet Union forces travelled through time to try and rewrite history, World War Three is raging and everything on their timeline is wrong, Marty.
It’s coming to PC, 360 and PS3 with a co-op campaign, a new race (The Empire of the Rising Sun -- I’m hoping they’ll have some sort of excess-unwanted-pirate-copies-of-Alien-Versus-Predator-2 cannon), improved sea combat.
There are also weapons “like Tesla coils, heavily armed War Blimps, teleportation, armored bears, intelligent dolphins, floating island fortresses, and transforming tanks.”
Armoured bears, intelligent dolphins and floating island fortresses! It’s time I spoke to the engineering departments of various Sydney universities -- I must have several of each.
You can join the beta if you have a copy of Command and Conqueror 3: Kane’s Wrath or the Command and Conquer 3 Limited Collection later this year.
