Free Aerosmith Guitar Hero 3 track for 360

It's for this weekend only. Also: just announced Guitar Hero: Aerosmith edition makes GH80's pointless.

Excuse me for being a little, er, disjointed about this -- but I’m writing this at 3:00am on a Saturday morning. It’s Guitar Hero info, so it has to go up, the problem is that it was under embargo until 3:30am. Yeah, embargos suck.

In a lucky and rare coincidence, I’ve had a fun and relatively early Friday night because I’ve got shit that I want to get done tomorrow that in no way resembles my last seven consecutive weekends of doing nothing but editing video.

So between that and embargoes, I’m writing this up for you. Here goes:

There’s a free Aerosmith song called Dream On that’s available as a free download on Xbox Live for this weekend only. You’re a fan? Awesome. I’m not really a huge fan. I mean, I liked that one with Run DMC and everything, and I suppose that other one that I can’t remember any more was alright.

Aerosmith use a lot of hairspray. Come to think of it, why didn’t they have any Aerosmith tracks in Guitar Hero 80’s? Man that spinoff game sucked.

Oh yeah, speaking of spin offs, there’s a Guitar Hero: Aerosmith coming out for 360, PS2, 3, and Wii. That’s why the GH3: Legends of Rock download track is free. They should have held off on GH:80’s and just released GH: Aeosmith instead.

I don’t think there’s anything else you can download. I asked if there would be any characters available, but Activision were being cagey about it. Can’t say I blame them -- Guitar Hero’s worth a lot of money to them, you know.

I thought the first band to do their greatest hits: Guitar Hero edition would be AC/DC or U2, but a Rush edition of GH would be the most awesome thing ever to awesome. Why hasn’t anybody in Australia heard of Rush? And why haven’t they toured here? That a tragedy, and should really be looked into by NATO or the people at Geneva Convention or somebody.

I’m actually quite excited about this, you know. I’ll express my excitement tomorrow in the morning. The proper morning, not this impostor morning that creeps up on you when your night’s just getting started. For now though, I’m going back to bed.

Yeah, embargos suck. But we did get you the news as early as we possibly could.
