"Hurry shoppers, only 252 shopping days left to preorder Gears of War 2!"
"Hurry shoppers, only 252 shopping days left to preorder Gears of War 2!"
You know that feeling you get whenever you walk into a shopping centre and it feels like the Christmas decorations have gone up in July, and you’re expecting an announcement along the lines of “hurry shoppers, only 174 shopping days left ‘till Christmas!”?
Well, the gaming industry’s release schedule trumps it.
We just heard news out of the Game Developers’ Conference that Microsoft has announced Gears of War 2, Fable 2 and Ninja Gaiden 2 (really 5, if the three emulated games I unlocked in the original Xbox version were all there was to unlock, and if you don’t count Sigma on the PS3 or the Black re-release for Xbox) will be hitting the 360. In Gears of War 2’s case, it’s set for a November release.
The Epic Games team is psyched, and believe that Gears 2 will be a “more badass experience than the first game”. There’s an incredibly cool looking, highly stylised teaser of Gears of War 2 on
this Xbox Live page
. And while we’re on the subject of Gears of War Videos, check this out...
Awww yeah.
Peter Molyneux announced Fable 2 at the conference, and there are going to be ‘pub games’ available on Xbox Live sometime later this year that you can play, earn currency on, then eventually transfer into Fable 2.
Live integration is also on the cards for Ninja Gaiden 2, where you can upload moves which others can download and watch.
