First screenshots, details and RRP of the DS version of Guitar Hero

Well, since I got angry with (and gave up on) Zelda: Hourglass, this ought to make the trip into work a little more tolerable.

Here’s a batch of the latest screenshots that we got in from Activision today.

Now, the game itself:
You use a large pick (included) instead of the stylus to strum the touch screen. The fretboard plugs into the GBA slot, and in case you were wondering, has no rumble pack or tilt sensor. Star power is activated by blowing on the microphone, or yelling at your DS.

There is wireless play, and there is a challenge mode similar to GH3. You use the microphone again to blow out flames in multiplayer battle, or homemade pyrotechnics.

We don’t know the full set list yet, but apparently there’s a lot of master tracks including OK Go, Nirvana and No Doubt.

There isn’t an official RRP yet, but EB’s saying it’s going to be $89.95, and are quoting the 26th of June as the release date. If that release date’s accurate, I’ll film and upload myself eating my morning ham and cheese croissant as well as the brown paper bag it comes in.

A word of advanced warning: anybody who plays this game on public transport without headphones will be added to the list of socially defective commuters, along with those with the audacity to play -- at full volume, no less -- Rap and/or RnB songs that have been clinically dead for years thanks to excessive playback in clubs, such as Snoop et al.’s “The Next Episode”.

Rock out responsibly.
