Iphone porn industry booms

Coming on the back of Jobs' vision. Or, we never met a pun we didn't like.

Time Magazine is reporting that a $1.7 billion mobile porn industry is set to erect itself once the Iphone 2.0 debuts on July 11.

Already Google has been filled with applets for erotic text chatting, 'moan tones,' and video and things are set to swell when the Iphone goes broadband and can take much more.

Apparently Apple Messiah Steve Jobs doesn't really dissaprove of the alternative uses of his gear, according to his mouthpiece Jennifer Bowcock (no, really).

She said that Apple bans adult content from official applications, just as it has restricted adult content in the podcast section of the Apple store. But it can't prevent customers from accessing porn through the device's browser.

Mark Kirstein, president of Multimedia Intelligence, a mobile-research firm, told Time that the Iphone is like a Trojan horse that lets smut providers cut out the carrier as middleman.

IPhone porn has significant market penetration in Europe where mobile smut is more widely offered by carriers.
