Far Cry 2 system specs revealed

Can your system handle it?

We just found out the specs for Far Cry 2. You must know the following:

Minimum requirements:
CPU: Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz, Pentium D 2.66 Ghz, AMD Athlon 64 3500+ or better

Video card: NVIDIA 6800 or ATI X1650 or better -- Shader Model 3 and 256 MB RAM on your graphics card

RAM: 1 GB

Recommended requirements
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo, AMD Athlon64 X2 5200+, AMD Phenom or better

Video card: NVIDIA 8600 GTS or better, ATI X1900 or better, 512 MB RAM on your graphics card

RAM: 2 GB

Sound: 5.1 sound card recommended

Supported Video cards:
ATI X1650 –> 1950 series, HD2000 series, HD3000 series, HD4000 series

NVIDIA 6800, NVIDIA 7000 series, 8000 series, 9000 series, 200 series

8800M and 8700M supported for laptops

The game itself ships on DVD.

Those minimum specs seem a little low, if you ask us. But on the other hand, the developers have had a lot of time to optimise to the engine -- possibly for low power cards.

Also, driver releases since the original Far Cry have wrung quite a bit more power out of low end cards too, so we'll have to see when it's released.

Our respective machines are ready. Is yours?
