Until you've read this article
On the 28th of August (currently ten days away) there will be a new PS3 on the shelves that comes with an 80GB hard drive and a dual shock controller.
Same price ($699) as the old one -- which came with a 40GB hard drive and a controller
that didn't rumble
.
Win.
So what happens to the excess stock of the old 40GB versions? We're not sure. But if there's another "Buy a Bravia and get a free PS3!" promotion in the future, I'm prepared to bet that the excess stock of 40GB PS3s will be what gets sent out.

The down side to this "system" is that the orignal ps3 the 60 gig one that came out can acctuly play ps2 games so far the 40 gig couldtn and the 80 gig i was told didnt so i can say sony is a bit of a dooshbag they need to lern to stick with something that accutly works the first time
