World GameMaster Tournament Update

This year's WGT is in full swing.

The World GameMaster Tournament has kicked off for another year with the top teams and players in the country battling it out for a coveted spot in the national finals at this year's Atomic LIVE expo.

Competitive multi-gaming juggernauts Team Immunity have started strong with unbeaten records in both Counter-Strike and Warcraft III. Team Immunity stalwart and current WCG champion Andrew 'mOOn-GLaDe' Pender has come out firing, winning his first three matches as he storms into the semi-finals with a solid 6-0 map record.

In the arena the Quake IV competition is just heating up with last year's WGT champion zeal0r making a return for a chance to claim WGT's first back-to-back titles. With rounds going down to the wire and a shot at the finals on the line, there's no doubt that WGT 2008 is shaping up to be fiercer than ever.

Full rankings for Quake and CounterStrike can be found here and here.

The finals event will take place on the 18th of October, at the Badgery's Pavilion at Homebush. The WGT is sponsored by ASUS, and they will be flying any interstate winners to the event.
