World of Warcraft's latest expansion will be in stores this year.
Yesterday there were hints popping up around the intertubes and some US software vendors suggesting that Wrath of the Lich King would be released on the 13th of November this year.
News sites paying attention to the
Wowhead website
spotted an advert stating the date, and it spread fast after that. Wikipedia updated its info (if it's in Wikipedia, it's true, right?) practically right away, and of course WoW forums simultaneously went into meltdown worldwide.
It was all up in the air yesterday, but as of this morning the World of Warcraft launcher and the
main community site
both loudly proclaim the date to be correct.
Australian WoW-nerds can expect the game on the 14th of November - effectively the same day as the US.

This expansion could be a huge flop... they have bitten off far more than they can chew this time and by the looks of the beta progress its going to be released complete with bugs which will result in extended down times and various character content patches after it goes live.

hmmm .. . . nah I wouldn't say that it'd be a flop because it's basically another TBC .. . sure, they might be introducing one or two new features, but more or less it's to balance out all of the high level players and put them in to a new set of raids.
I'm looking forward to actually spending the expansion period raiding and gearing up, as I only got WoW after TBC was released.

Dont pay much attention to other sites for release dates but the software resellers are also having it as a release date of 13/11/2008 so maybe.
Not sure i am looking forward to levelling all my 10 level 70 chars to 80 :( maybe some of them.

It'll go a lot smoother for them then TBC. Back then they had leveling content and no end game content, this time they have both already to go at release (albeit a reused level 60 dungeon).
Their problem lies in the fact that all their content is now soloy geared towards casual play and offers people nothing new that they haven't already done over and over for the last five years, they'll just do it even quicker and stand around town more.

Actually i would suggest filling your quest log full of quests with max xp to give you a boost when the xpac hits!
