Rock Band Australian release date. FINALLY.

It took more than the time needed to develop and release a sequel before Australia got to play the original.

Well, it took a sequel to be released in North America, but we finally have a confirmed Australian release date for Rock Band. Rock Band 1 that is, NOT Rock Band 2, which has already been released in the USA.

And it’s the 7th of November. For all consoles (360, Wii, PS3/2).

That’s close to all the usable info we’ve gotten so far. We’re still weeding info out of EA, like pricing and the bundles that will be released.

For the record, it’s really quite fun. I was at a friend’s place on the weekend playing it on his new Roland V-drums. In short, their MIDI output is fed into his computer, which feeds an Arduino which sends the switch terminals in his set of Rock Band drums high whenever you hit a V-drum pad.

Bonus points to the first person to finish a Rush song on expert on drums. I sure can’t.

A year+ to get an Australian release? EA can jam it up their arse.

Also, you've buggered up again.

Those are the "Guitar Hero" drums in the pic, not the "Rock Band" drums.

I blame whoever uploaded and labeled them "Rock_Band_drums.jpg" in the first place.

Also, I'd agree with you if it was worse than Guitar Hero. It feels more in in tune with the music, is more fun and has a better vibe to it.

What would you say to EA if you could?

Yeah - Sorry Dave! You know I share your love and admiration of all things music gamey.

But this can piss right off.

RB2 I might consider, especially with some special "Sorry we fucked you over" deal on a copy of RockBand 1 to import all the music.

As it stands, I'll wait the extra couple of days for Guitar Hero: World Tour.

If I could say anything to EA?

I'd flat out tell them they've lost a customer for the "Rock Band" franchise.

I'm not an EA hater.

I hate ANY publisher that thinks Australia's the arse-end of the world and doesn't deserve a timely release compared to other countries.

1 year is way, WAY too long to keep us shut out.

When we sell this at work, i will flat out tell people to wait for the new Guitar hero. I hope this sells like shit so they get the message that if we have to wait this long it is simply not acceptable.

just import RB2 from europe when it comes out, and borrow a copy of RB1 from a mate to import the songs and you're sweet as :-D boycotting it over GH is stupid, RB is by far a better game, especially if WT keeps the fucked up pull-off's from GH:Aerosmith (i'll still be getting both RB2 and GH:WT though)
been playing RB1 with a mate for the past few months, must say its pretty damn good, but the delay in getting it here has sucked big time...main problem apparently is no store wants to carry the $400 bundle it was/is going to be released as

The main problem has nothing to do with the price or the size. Yes that's a problem, but it's not the main one.

The main problem is big companies screwing us over.

And the point here, is that if someone tries to pull such an obviously arrogant stunt, then we need to send them a message, and that message is one we can send with our wallets.

I have no doubt I'll pick up a copy of RB and RB2, but I'll be picking them up in the bargain bins and playing them with my GH:WT instruments.

I for one have no interest in the GH or RB franchise, however.. This is bloody disgusting.

Just import the pal version via alternative means.

Yeah, they can shelve that. I was interested once upon a time.

But now i have a basement full of, you know, real instruments? Fuck spending money to pretend to learn songs i already know/could be learning for real.
