Just did a quick search.
X58 will have socket LGA1366 and the CPU is bigger, so will need new or modified heatsinks.
Suports 6 moduals of DDR3 upto 1333mhz initially and upto 24gigs capacity.
sorry about muliple posts the first two where in haste :)

Nice, just had a look through gallery.
- I like the BIOS battery holder :p
- 16/8/8 PCI-E lanes will do Tri SLI won't it?
- SAS on board? *drool*
- USB overclocking module is interesting. Show you clock speeds as it auto overclocks the chip? Maybe allow you to alter it on the fly too?

Yeah, it will do Tri-SLI (has the NT200 chip onboard to give a few extra lanes).
I'm guessing that the USB module is software-controlled, and has OC profiles that you can activate with the two buttons at the top-right of the unit. So anything really, stock/overclocked, underclocked/overclocked - it's your choice :)

Fantastic board speeds will be a huge improvement.
Only one gripe though is when will they put pci-e lans at 16x16.
Really who cares how fast tri-sli or sli is if second/third lane is crippled.
Come on all that tech development and still now 16x16.
Get that right first then this board will scream past all those others...

On board SAS - and my work will wonder where all the global hot spares went....
Quicklinks replacing FSB is going to be an interesting one. Very much like Hypertransport supposably so I can't wait to see some benchies.

i was looking at upgrading my (now borked) computer, but with 6 ram slots i think i'm definatly going to wait for this, probably the closest you could get to future proofing computer wise.
really no reson to get drr2 or an older socket now
