We've got a range of retailers who can't wait to sell you cool stuff!
Something we heard a lot after last year was that there was simply not enough to buy. It would seem that Atomicans like to consume, so, this year CONSUME THEY SHALL!
This year we've Madman Entertainment, Games Warehouse, Megaware, Digital Star and AusPCMarket, all ready, willing and very able to give you stuff for cash! And, even better, there's going to be some great deals on the day!
Deals? We love deals!!11!eleventy!
For instance, the Madman booth will have $5-$10 off all DVDs, standard Manga volumes for only $10 each, and their entire anime boxset range will be on sale with at least 30 per cent off! It's the perfect chance to dig into a full series. Top titles will be available including CG action blockbusters APPLESEED and VEXILLE plus great titles from Eastern Eye and ADULT SWIM.
Want to grab some of the gear you see at the Vendor displays? You can pick up some of the latest gear right at the show from AusPC Market, who will be running a large retail stand. They’ll be offering discounts on in-stock PC components at the stand, as well as taking order for later delivery. Every buyer will also get their choice of a freebie thrown in, such as a mousing accessory or performance LED fan!
And we've not even touched on the rest of the great tech deals you'll be able to take advantage of on the day.
So come one, come all, and grab an Atomic bargain! Just make sure you
register first
!

oh, and a mousing accessory? is that just a fancy word for mousepad?

This is quite the opposite of sucky, especially the discount on Eastern Eye titles...
Mousing accessory:
1. ergonomic attachment...thing (I'm winging this!)
2. a cat, to help you mouse, because mousing is the verb that means catching mice
3. rhyming slang for either housing accessory or lousing accessory

btw, is the mispelling of Anyware on the Live08 pages intentional?

Dousing accessory, for finding water?
Hawkeye

Anyware? That's the correct spelling...

http://www.atomicmpc.com.au/atomiclive08/ There is a company listed there as Anywhere, I assume you guys meant Anyware.

I didn't pick up on the name Anyware. How clever.
You can also find things like treasure through dousing, so that might be a quite handy accessory to have.

lol anime box sets seriously what is so special about cartoons? if i wanted to watch cartoons i would tune into the afternoon abc comics.

Anime boxsets tend to be expensive, that's why the discount is such a great deal. Manga volumes are normally nearly $30 in shops.

I'll be ready, shopping list in hand, but with comparison pricing, just to see how good these "deals/discounts" actually are.
Sorry to sound like a killjoy, but with the current economic situation brewing, I need maximum value for every dollar I may spend.

nesquick isn't geeky enough for geek conventions if he doesn't understand the difference between "cartoons" and "Anime".

nesquick, you obviously havent seen a good anime in your life. Watch Death Note and Full Metal Alchemist then come back and try to tell us that anime is like watching ABC cartoons of an arvo. You'll eat your words :)
anyway back on topic, OMG MADMAN!!!!! :D
Thats awesome! There are a few things ill be buying for sure, i love Madman, i hope they have Beck Mongolian Chop Squad and the Fruits Basket manga series!! COOL!

So sad, for someone to compare Anime to the shit on abc in the afternoon...
When i think about 20 best TV shows that I've ever watched, its a pretty even mix of Anime and live action shows, and i make no distinction as to one bing lesser than the other (though MANY people seem to look down on Anime still, especially the older generation as they think they are just kiddies cartoons without even watching them)
How wrong they are...
