Want to keep playing Hellgate: London?

You'll have to do it without the servers.

Sadly, with the collapse of Flagship Studios earlier this year, this also means that they have no money to continue running the servers for Hellgate: London. Another company has stepped up to the plate (albeit temporarily) to keep the servers running in the interim - but this is only short lived.

Indeed, on the 31st of January next year, the official servers for the game will be taken offline. Sure, you'll still be able to play in single player mode, but we all know that the real meat of the game resides firmly in the interwebs.

After a very rocky launch, and countless patches being required to get the game into a smooth, reliable state, the future of Hellgate: London looks as grim as it's setting. To all those players out there still online - enjoy it while it lasts, because you'll have to find something to fill that gap much sooner than you'd think.

RIP: Hellgate.

Bugger - i really like playing Hellgate London with my mates, it's one of the few games i play on my PC still (along with one of my other recent favorites Titan Quest)
You can see i pick real winners :(
(Titan Quest creators Iron Lore having gone belly up as well just like Flagship Studios)

Awww. I only ever played this in single player but was looking forward to going online when I got my new system. Looks like I won't get very far. Hopefully some kind person will setup a "private" public server. Or another developer pick up where Flagship finished. It's a great game. It combines the FPS or games like PREY but the RPG of Diablo. Great combination, sad to see it go down the drain. :'(

They should at least do the decent thing by those customers and transfer server software to the community so someone can host servers....

What sm1ddy said, and that's the very least they could do. I was personally excited about this game until its launch and thus the first batch of reviews that came out.

Pity really I thought the game had a lot of potential.

Hey Ezekiel, I really got into Titan Quest myself... but you have to admit, it gets a bit old hat after a while.
