Ion Storm stock climbed through the roof today, backed by news that company founder and gaming badboy John Romero might be leaving the Dallas-based game development company. Eidos, owners of Ion Storm, are denying the rumours of course, but an anonymous Ion Stormer did have this to say:

'We know that the gaming public would be saddened by Romero's loss, that he would have to give up work on Daikatana II - This Time Suck it Harder. But what they've got to understand is that all he ever talks about is Stevie "Kilcreek" Case, and how sexy she is, and how lucky a guy like him is to have her. He doesn't shut up. And then there's all that suck-it-down bullshit. Oh, is this thing turned on?'

There is also absolutely no truth to the rumour that Larry Ellison once declared at a backyard barbecue that Daikatana was his favourite game of all time.
