I know a lot of you atomic fans are heavily into the Search for ExtraTerrestrial Intelligence , giving over the precious spare clock-cycles of your PCs to crunching through the raw data collected by the massive dish at Arecibo in South America. Sadly, however, SETI@home has been the victim of sabotage, with geek scavengers accidentally cutting SETI's cable link while attempting to strip copper of some accompanying wires.

Normal programming, and hopefully proof that we are not alone, will resume shortly.

Meanwhile, however, you can keep yourself amused by catching up with the antics of the hundreds of satellites slowly circling the globe by pointing your browser at NASA's J track page, a funky little 3D java applet for amatuer satellite tracking. 'Ooh' at the International Space Station, 'aah' at the far flung Geosat satellites, and giggle hysterically at the Iridium network.
