Word from the fab is that 1.7GHz P4s are only a few weeks away, with a projected release date of the 15th of April. At the very least, Intel's Chief Technical Officer, Pat Gelsinger declared at the recent WinHEC conference that the new processor would be showing up 'very shortly'.

And if you're really wanting to boost your performance, you'll be waiting until early Third Quarter for the 2GHz P4. This kind of power is truly obscene - is anyone else looking forward to seeing a GeForce3 running on a 2GHz machine?
