I have LANed, you have LANed, we've all LANed. But we haven't LANed in style, not like some of the crazy gamers in Germany will be able to shortly. Electronic Arts Germany is sponsoring a massive 3,000 player event that will take place in early August - and this ain't no BYO affair. The organisers will be providing every PC and setting up the network well before hand.

But what really sets aside this event is the budget. 4 million Deutschmarks. That's right, over $5 million Australian; the event will be market all over Germany (and likely Europe as well). Prize money? That I'm not certain of, but it should be pretty damn generous, given that the entry fee is just under $200 Australian, or 150 Deutschmarks.
