The Internet appliance craze is now officially out of control. UK supermarket chain Tesco has teamed up with fringe fridge maker Home Delivery Access to create what they call the ultimate in labour saving devices. It's called the 'shop drop' fridge, and it has two doors - one facing into your kitchen like any old vanilla fridge, and the other actually built into the exterior wall of your house.

The idea is simple. You're rich, you're stupidly lazy, so not only do you get your groceries home delivered, you get them loaded straight into the fridge. You need never see the smelly, lay-about types who typically work on grocery delivery, and food magically appears in your fridge like some demented, analogue transporter from Star Trek.

Now it seems like a good idea (actually, I can't support that, but humour me), but what about non-frozen goods? I certainly don't want my toilet paper chilled next to me asparagus spears, nor do I like the idea of my kitty litter sharing shelf space with Sunday's roast. And then there's security - a door to your house designed to be accessed by complete strangers seems to be asking for trouble. And, frankly, it's just plain weird.
