Here's something interesting; the uncapped BigPond Freedom plan for Telstra ADSL customers is currently undergoing a revision to its acceptable use policy, aimed at unclogging the network and making the service better for all concerned. Where once downloads where uncapped, Telstra is now capping monthly downloads at 3GB, with every extra MB costing 35 cents.

The lads over at CFGN broke the story, and have a copy of the letter they sent out to BigPond customers (I'll have to check my mail). My initial response was a typical 'WTF!' But then I thought about - I don't come close to downloading that much, even during my biggest MP3 hunts or pr0n-fests. And Telstra estimates that the 3GB cap should translate to about 300 hours of gaming. I'm lucky to get 80 hours.

So head on over and check out the news - it ain't that bad when you think about it.
