Creative Assembly - the makers of the Total War series - devs share their hopes for the company's new strategy title.

The Total War series is very possibly our favourite strategy series of all time. The only thing it really lacks is lasers and giant mutants, and Creative Assembly has spooted that too... so now we have Stormrise.

The game is set for release next year, and will be a much more intimate experience than the Total War games. It's also being developed for both PC and console, so expect some very different takes on unit control. But why listen to us, when you can listen to the guys making it - and they're right here in Australia, too!

Bold move trying to make a strategy game for consoles. Unwise most assuredly, but bold.

I don't know - I thought Civ worked surprisingly well on console. It was dumbed down Civ, but it was still fun.

looks cool, but, being made for consoles will dumb down what might be a good game.

It's just a pity there's no forseeable campaign mode . . .I loved the full campaign map view in Medieval 2!

I don't know... I'm willing to have faith in them. They've not made a single mis-step so far...
