Teoma , touted by many as a possible challenger to current search engine king Google , has been purchased by Ask Jeeves . A spokesperson for Ask Jeeves stated that the company would integrate Teoma search and rank technology into its current system in order to provider users with more relevant results. However, AskJeeves has no plans to close the existing Teoma site at this time

Many game makers are re-evaluating their latest creations in light of recent events in America. Spider Man 2 on PlayStation2 has been recalled after game developers realised that certain levels were set in a building resembling the former World Trade Center. The game will be tweaked to remove the level, and the shipping date will be four weeks later than originally planned. Other games to be affected include Microsoft's newest flight sim, Flight Sim 2002, which has had maps altered to remove the World Trade Center, and also Majestic. Majestic, the game that uses email, SMS, instant messaging and phone calls to involve players in a worldwide conspiracy, has been suspended until further notice due to the 'sinister' nature of Majestic creating more online rumour and conspiracy theories.

Intel has signed a new deal with Rambus, superseding old agreements between the two companies. The new deal means that Intel will be sticking to its support of RDRAM-based chipsets for at least the next five years, much to the ire of any DDR supporters. The new deal probably won't have much of an affect outside tying Intel to Rambus again, as third party chipset makers (VIA, for example) are determined to go ahead with their Pentium 4 DDR platforms.

According to El Reg, Motorola has produced the first of its new 'G5' processors. Motorola claims its new G5 chip will be capable of speeds up to 2GHz (yes you read correctly – a PowerPC chip that breaks the 1GHz barrier). However, the PPC G5 will initially ship in 1, 1.2, 1.4 and 1.6GHz speeds. Interestingly, the new desktop chip is 64-bit, and the next upgrade to OS/X – OS/X 10.2, will also be a 64-bit OS. This could leave users on current 32-bit Mac hardware unhappy, their software upgrade path in tatters. Considering Apple's reputation for not knowing the meaning of the word 'backward compatibility', the move seems likely. No official word yet on a launch date for the G5 although, as ever, speculation abounds.
