IBM puts $40M on the table in open source initiative

IBM recently announced plans to make $US40 million worth of
software development tools 'public domain' through open source group, Eclipse. IBM's primary aim is to turn Eclipse into a large, developer-orientated open source organisation, and is part of a larger $US1 billion push towards Linux and open source in general.

IBM has yet to mention specifically which tools it will be releasing, or
under what licences these will be released.
