Once again the famed Atomic Blender has somehow made its way out the front door here at Atomic HQ and promptly gone AWOL into the `Net, Lawnmower Man style. Fortunately for law abiding citizens around the country, Atomic's team of highly trained retriever gibbons managed to recapture our hallowed Blender before it could carry out plans of world domination (they're all the same, these blenders. Constantly on about world domination and total power. Pfft.).

Upon examining our newly recaptured friend, staff here at HQ noticed several interesting tidbits of news stuck to its milkshake-covered insides.

First to be plucked out and washed off was the news that Amazon UK may have (once again) made a blunder with a product's release date. This time, Amazon seems to have revealed the release date for Duke Nukem Forever. March 8, 2002 (thats this year folks) is when you can expect to see DNF hitting shelves. W00t! Of course, this release date is far from official and if you take into account the track record of DNF's development, holding your breath for March 8 could be terminal.

Second to be unceremoniously yanked from our naughty Blender was the possibility that Gigabyte may soon drop Nvidia from its graphics card line-up to go totally Ati. At this stage it's still a rumour, but many sources are speculating along the same lines, including the guys at x-bit labs.

Lastly StorageReview, perhaps the best online resource for storage in all its forms, is considering closure due to financial problems. Certainly SR has had the devils own luck recently, loosing their entire database (including backups) in a monumental stuff up that occurred, ironically enough, during an attempted backup. You can read excerpts from an announcement concerning StorageReview's future at Ars Technica.
