Dead Space comic online and free

Get your horror on, with the first issue of Image comic's prequel to the hit survival horror game.

Did you like Dead Space? We certainly did, and while it's caused quite a bit of discussion on the game's merits, we think Electronic Arts did a damn fine job on the game.

Plus, it was also refreshing to see them working on a new property, rather than just bringing John Madden out of Cryo to record another thousands of lines of dialogue for the next Madden NFL incarnation.

Anyway, assuming you did like Dead Space, you can now get the lowdown on just what went so horribly wrong on the starship Ishimura and the colony that spawned the Necromorph menace.

Newsarama and Image comics always present the best of the previous year's comics online, with special (and, more importantly, free!) digital versions of the first issue of each of their picks. And the Ben Templesmith (30 Days of Night amongst other populat comics) drawn Dead Space has made the cut.

If you like what you see and read, you can get the individual issues or the newly released hardcover at most major comic shops.
