Apple gives 1394 TA FireWire brand

Apple and the 1394 Trade Association have announced that Apple’s FireWire ‘trademark, logo and symbol’ will become brand identities of the 1394 TA in a fee-free licensing deal.

According to this report on Mac News Network, the agreement includes a new FireWire logo 'specifically designed for the TA's compliance program'. Also part of the deal is an agreement giving the TA exclusive rights to sublicense the brand and logo to other vendors.
