Many doubted it would happen. Some were adamant it wouldn't come to be. A few, myself included, were so certain of its impossibility that we actually betted against it. Well, I'm here to tell you that we were wrong. We were very wrong, and now I owe John a beer, because Blizzard Entertainment's next game has been announced and it will be console only.

StarCraft: Ghost will throw players headfirst into the StarCraft universe as Nova, a Terran Ghost working for the Dominion. As Nova, players will for the first time experience the StarCraft universe in 3D, participating in missions that range from close-quarters solo work against the Zerg and Protoss, through to massive warfare on a global scale. In the process, you'll be calling in air-strikes from BattleCruisers and beating down wave after wave of Zergling with punishing artillery strikes from far off SeigeCannon.

Unfortunately, StarCraft: Ghost will be exclusive to console platforms. According to Blizzard the game will appear on several 'next generation' consoles. However, company representatives are currently being extremely cagey about which consoles these will be.
