Without trying, Google managed to get itself into trouble with Sharman Networks, the company that currently owns the Kazaa Media Desktop program (KMD).

Without trying, Google managed to get itself into trouble with Sharman Networks, the company that currently owns the Kazaa Media Desktop program (KMD). Sharman Networks had a problem with the fact that when users entered 'Kazaa' into the Google search engine, they'd get more hits for sites hosting 'derivative works' instead of the original application.

Google quickly got itself out of trouble after receiving this letter from Sharman Networks, informing Google that the programs hosted on the sites were in breach of the DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) and the links needed removing. Now, at the bottom of a list of Google hits for Kazaa, there's a notice informing users that eight links have been removed.
