Atomic announces two exciting new content partnerships.

Atomic is pleased to announce two exciting new partnerships, designed to bring you even more great content!

Custom PC is a well-respected enthusiast-grade computing magazine in the United Kingdom - in fact, it's kind of like a British version of Atomic. We're very chuffed to have entered into a content-sharing arrangement with them, and from the next issue onward (that's 98), and starting soon on the web site, we'll be taking advantage of their in-depth, very detailed hardware round-ups, features and tutorials.

Den of Geek, a sci-fi, fantasy and generally genre website is run by the same publishers as Custom PC, and we've entered into a similar deal with them. We have always wanted to make more of the entertainment content we run on Atomic, and this will allow us to bring you news of the latest movies, television, books and comics, as well as great features on everything from special effects to interviews with top writers in the field. This will go alongside our own genre reporting - we've recently covered both the new Star Trek film and Zack Snyder's upcoming Watchmen adaptation - in the site's Geek > Entertainment section.

And all this on top of the already high-grade technology, hardware, science and computing articles produced by your very own Atomic writers.

My monocle just fell out and bounced off my oil-stained sephiroth shirt covering my enormous gut and lodged itself in a propellor from a jet used to cool my PC.

I think this partnership is targeting my demographic quite well.

Hey hey hey!

I like the sound of the sci-fi/fantasy themed additions, but coming off the back of the news that local free-lancer A4E is getting nixed, it's a little disappointing seeing the dollars heading overseas.

Yeah, it's not ideal, but it's the times we live in, I'm afraid.

As to the dollars, though, this is a content-swapping arrangement, as I understand it.

Oh, I completely get the whys and wherefores of the decision and I'm not pointing fingers or am on my knees crying into the rain about it being unfair, just a bit, you know...

One thing about shared content that shits me (or Aus versions of OS publications) is when they reference stuff that most Australians won't get. I remember reading an imported review of some lame game likening it to "as exciting as a night out in Hull."

Unless you're a UK local, or been a tourist in Hull, it's going to go over most reader's heads.

I hope there's some way to avoid this kind of, well, not *oversight*, but yeah...you know...

Oh, man, I totally get you. I've worked on a LOT of licensed titles, from PC Authority in the old days to entire licensed photographic series in another previous job.

Rest assured we'll be removing all pommie references :)

Awesome - if the magazine gets new worthy content, a resubscribe might be in order methinks.

You couldn't do a content partnership with Top Gear could you dave... I know it's not computer orientated... but it's heaps more fun to watch.
