We give our impressions of the mind-warpingly good quality of the Sennheiser HD 800 kit.
When you hear the name Sennheiser, you'd probably associate them right off the bat with high quality audio in pretty much every sector of the market that has anything at all to do with it - they're quite literally experts in those tantalising waves.
Last night, Atomic was invited to have a listen to these Audiophile headphones not only because they're the best thing since canned wine (not that canned wine is good, we just like it as a novel idea), but because they are Sennheiser's highest ranking headphones.
The HistorySennheiser started their design process on the HD 800's about seven years ago. Bringing everything back to basics, they built them from the ground up to emphasise the awesome quality and incredible design that have since emerged today.
A team of 25-35 people worked on this headset at any given time, even three soundstage designers present intermittently to reproduce the most accurate sound positioning they can in a headphone. The reasoning behind this is that stereo monitors are positioned slightly angled towards your ears - so naturally they just twisted the driver around as well.
