The sequel to Mass Effect could be gracing shelves later this year - intergalactic win!
In a conference call with US journalists, EA CEO John Riccitiello confirmed that Mass Effect 2 will be released in the fourth quarter of 2009.
While we'd love to regale you with tales of exciting new features and locales, really, all we know is that it's coming to PC and Xbox 360. Hell, we're not even sure of the timing of the two platform releases. Bioware's involvement is also not yet confirmed, but we're going to assume that's a gimme - can you imagine anyone else taking up the mantle?
Regardless of what we do and don't know, we still think this is awesomely good news. Mass Effect was one of the best RPGs we've ever played (both versions, no less), and we're tempted to celebrate the good news with a third run through.
