Local Aussie tech distributor doing their part.

Anyware have had a pretty strong presence in the Aussie market, distributing everything from Lian Li cases to Altec Lansing speakers - and even antivirus software.

Just today though, on the 17th of February 2009, Anyware have announced an impressive contribution to the Australian Red Cross.

Anyware will be making a donation of $10,000 to the Australian Red Cross, and will also be dedicating additional proceeds from current sales and marketing promotions to this figure. Anyware staff throughout our branches located in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth are also arranging for employee donations over the next few days which will be added to this total. In an additional expression of generosity, our staff are encouraging their colleagues, families and friends to donate clothing to the Bushfire Appeal. All clothing received from Anyware staff, will then be collected and directly freighted to the Salvation Army and SES to distribute within the affected areas.

This is a huge show of goodwill, and goes to show that even with the economy going to pieces all around, great Aussie companies can still give their support freely to those who need it most.

We at Atomic give our best to those victims of the fires, and echo Anyware's plea for other vendors to follow suit:

We would like to take this opportunity to encourage other members of the channel, including vendors, other distributors and resellers to do the same to support those that are doing it tough in the aftermath of this national tragedy. Anyware would also like to thank our staff, their families and friends for all their efforts and outstanding generosity for this very worthy cause.

Feel free to comment with your appreciation of Anyware's selfless donations.

It's nice to see that even local IT distributors are doing their part.

Maybe the big boys should do something as well, not just give them a copy of anti-virus software. I'm talking about new computers, hardware, software etc.

I just hope that all of the money that has been donated goes to the people it is meant for and not into the coffers and pockets of the red cross and others, claiming that they require admin costs to pay for staff.

I for one would like to see the government introduce legistation making this happen, if I donate to a charity I want all of my donation to go to that person, not half of it.

I have great sympothy for the people that have suffered from the victoria bush fires but i feel people have forgotten the people at igam and further west where they have been flooded for over 6 weeks. They still havnt even got a water purifier out there! It is as if they have been forgotten.
