A beer and LN2-fuelled night of overclocking and gaming.

We gave you a heads-up about the comp last Friday night, and since that date has come and gone we figured we'd show the rest of you who didn't get to go just what it was like.

The night of the GIGABYTE GoOC event began at 6:30PM, with preliminary setting up of the equipment and initial overclocking, ready for competition's start at 7:30PM.

There was also a LAN going on at the time, and even the crew from Good Game turned up with a whole camera and mic team to catch it all on video.

We'll give you an update here as soon as the final scores from the night are posted online, but until then have an ogle at the pics in the gallery, and check out the list of kit that the competitors used:

  • GIGABYTE EX58-UD4P
  • GIGABYTE GTX260
  • Intel i965
  • Kingston KHX14400D3K3/3GX
  • ENERMAX Revolution85+ 1050W
  • Intel 80GB SSD

The event proper was hosted by The Overclocker, and we're looking forwards to the finals of this comp - last year was a blast!

Did the N2(L) fuck up the carpet like last time?

Did you bring more acetone this time? Because last time you guys discovered that Vodka doesn't work.

Hey Justin,

The Vid cards were GTX260's not GTX295's

And for some of the comments above.

It should be on Good Game next Monday 09/03, 8:30pm on ABC2

There was no carpet where the LN2 was, so no issue at all.

Like last year, there was no Dry Ice used, so no need for acetone at all. All the Open Overclockers were using LN2.

LOL at 3 post in a row, I need an Edit button fast!

Also, the Motherboard was a Gigabyte EX58-UD4P, not the Extreme.

Ah, rightio, thanks Deanzo. There was one rig with a GTX295, I guessed that the rest would be the same :)

Deanzo: perhaps it was 07 that didn't have enough acetone then? I remember a video of it and everyone was going on about there not being enough acetone, and they tried vodka, and then Hawkeye made some comment afterwards like "okay we've learned that next time, bring more acetone; and vodka doesn't quite work" or something like that.
It was either 07 or 08.
