Garrys Mod Comp Over

Winner announced, runners up, prize shown!

We started the Garrys Mod Comp a little while back, and the response to it has been phenomenal - the amount of creativity and enthusiasm put in was incredible.

There was every entry under the sun from Halflife 300 spoofs to Tellytubby murder scenes and comic strips galore.

In fact there were so many entries that judging them was tricker than we expected, but we've pulled through in the nick of time to finally narrow it down to a single winner.

The winning entry was a gmod-powered version of The Beatles' Abbey Road album cover, done by Ghost05. We think that this is an incredible application of the mod, and everything down to the spacing of the characters, placement of the cars and even the bystander in the background is nigh on perfect. It's a simple enough idea, but one that was executed very well, and looks the part too - just check out the entry and compare it to the original to see what we mean:

We'll PM Ghost05 on the forums for contact details, for he's the brand new owner of some AMD flavoured marketing stuff (modelled by DH, no less):

Congratulations to Ghost05 for winning!

There were also some other notable entries from Takoma, SquallStrife and iwantanimac - each of these were very clever or funny too, and there are plenty of other entries in the thread to have a look at.

Thanks to all who entered!

Thanks people. Had a lot of fun making it.

Yeah Takoma, as soon as I got the message that I won I thought, thank you Takoma, then saw it was this pic and not the other one.

ahsoka: Well, that's the tip of the iceberg. Just from where I'm sitting I can see... A Little Sister from Bioshock, a plasma ball, a Lego Batman keyring, a can of Booty Sweat, a BBC-branded USB stick, an Activision lanyard... we get sent a lot of odd stuff.

A BBC thumbdrive? A plasma ball? Nice. The AMD Lego is still the coolest bit though.

@hawkeye (and any others interested): if you were thinking of getting this to be a fortnightly thing you could model it off the continous screenshot competition at the AOK heaven forums:

*thinks to self* i really should get back some good classic aok madness
