Intel's newest socket may only get a year in the spotlight.
We've had a very extensive look at Intel's enthusiast-level chip (the i7), but their mainstream-level chip is called the i5.
It isn't even out yet, but already it's looking to be on the chopping block to get replaced with another socket - the LGA1156B.
The reasoning behind this seems to be adding support for the integrated graphics that we had a look at a little while back, which won't be released until mid-2010, right about when this socket switcheroo would take place.
It doesn't spell doom for anyone on the LGA1366 socket already, but for those early adopters who are looking at getting an i5 system it's definitely something to keep in mind.
Head over to Fudzilla to grab some more info on this.
