Blizzard needs you!

A new Diablo 2 patch is around the corner, and Blizzard would like to know what fans want to see in it.

Despite the fact that work is steadily ramping up on Diablo 3, Blizzard devs have not forgotten about the still thriving Diablo 2 community.

According to a post on Battle.net, the new 1.13 patch for Diablo 2 is just around the corner, but before it goes to release Blizzard is curious to know what the player base wants.

"Our goal is to get an overall sense of the single most important request from every member of the community. We want as many posts as we can get for the largest cross section, so if you have friends who used to play Diablo II or just don't frequent the forums as much as you do, let them know this is here so we can get their "#1 patch note" too."

Of course, despite clearly asking for the number one thing players want, a lot of posters have come back with HUGE wishlists of tweaks, fixes and out and out dreams. Still, it's great to see Blizz still supporting Diablo 2. This move also begs the question of just how long they're going to continue to do so - or is this going to be the last big update before all hands switch focus to Diablo 3?

Regardless, if you're a fan, and still playing, now's your chance to be heard.

Too easy: higher res support (at least 1024*768) and compatibility issues. Windowed mode wouldn't hurt either.

The game itself is great, and I'd be playing it if only it didn't look like complete and utter arse due solely to its shocking (by today's standards) resolution.

huh you call that high res.. it was ok back then, but if they are doing a end all patch how about 1920x1200 on my 24 inch dell...

1024*768 pftttt high res you make me laugh

I agree, #1 feature to implement - high resolution, support for 1920x1080. I would not expect to see new graphics/sounds/art. Perhaps more transmutations.

Director: it works fine on vista (even on 64bit).

thesorehead: It does support windowed mode, although only at 800x600, just add -w to the command line.

I'd be more than happy with high res support alone. Keep pulling this outta the box but that old school res makes me cry.
