New pervasive computing device offers Sixth Sense

New wearable projection device offers users new ways to interact with just about anything...

The Technology, Entertainment, Design conference is an annual event to showcase and bring together people from these three disparate but increasingly interconnected fields - and this year, it has delivered cool stuff in spades.

But there's none cooler than the device shown off by Pattie Maes of MIT Media Lab's new Fluid Interfaces Group. The device, the brainchild of her student Pranav Mistry, combines optical sensors, mobile phone connectivity and natural gestures to offer users a degree of information retrieval and interaction that is, frankly, of science fiction proportions.

And it's also really, really fracking cool. Here's a video of her talk at the TED conference - and trust us, when you see the standing ovation at the end, you'll want to join in.

Where do I sign up for that implant?!

You can check out the the Sixth Sense project page for more information on this awesome technology..
