Video: Get a close look at some of the destruction - and the tools to wreek it - in Red Faction: Guerilla.

THQ has sent us a mess of new screen and some video of their upcoming actioner, Red Faction: Guerilla. And it's looking hot.

We remember our first foray into the Red Faction's destructible environments - so many hours were lost digging holes and finding the limits of the damage you could inflict. But thos limits have been pushed with every release, and the new Guerilla takes things even further. Things have ramped up so much that the developers have switched the game's view from first person to third; it's just easier to deal with the complex environments from that perspective.

The screens are pretty shiny as is, but the video is the real deal - sledgehammers, explosions, giant mechs, jetpacks, and - according to THQ - "the most impressive explosions and destruction engine seen in a console game".

Red Faction: Guerilla will be released on all major platforms on the 11th of June this year.

The explosions were so-so.
But the destruction... Oh fuck yes! :D

I'm quite sad that I had a bit of trouble getting the original to run under Vista. Cracked the shits and gave up after a couple of tries. Good times in that game, good times.
