Blizzard creative writing contest

Write a story, win a giant sword and a trip to Blizzard HQ!

Riding on the wave of their immensely successful Warcraft, Diablo and of course Starcraft universes, Blizzard have a competition on.

The entry into the comp is simple, and the prize drool-worthy:

To enter, submit a 3,000 to 10,000 word story written in English and set in the Warcraft, StarCraft, or Diablo universe by April 12 and earn your chance to visit the Blizzard Entertainment headquarters and meet the writers and staff behind the lore seen in the games and books.

Not only will you get to head overseas to meet them, but you'll also get yourself a huge Frostmourne sword too.

Runners up can score themselves signed copies of all the games, so there's plenty of motivation to enter - but check the official rules for clarification. Specifically;

THIS CONTEST IS OPEN ONLY TO RESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES, CANADA, AUSTRALIA... AND (ii) WHO ARE NOT RESIDENTS...OF THE AUSTRALIAN STATES OF VICTORIA, QUEENSLAND OR THE AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY

Seems that while it's open to Australia, you can't enter if you're in the above states (darn!). Still, even if you're a novelist or pro writer, you're still eligible to enter - so get writing!

Man how much does that suck for QLD and Vic?

First bushfires and floods, now this! Karmically bitch slapped.

I don't feel especially bad for the ACT, as there's maybe 10-12 people who live there... = P

They'd have probably excluded the NT as well, if they'd ever heard of it lol. Lucky for me they haven't = D

They probably didn't include WA because they thought by the time the information arrives the the comp would have been over. But hooray we can still do it. We are adapting here in isolated Perth. Now to learn how to write...

>< Blizzard hates me, or atleast my 1/3 of Australia 99% of their promotions aren't open to Australia and now one that is and its not open to residents of QLD. Once again Blizzard fails.
