Microsoft Future Vision 2019

Essential Linkage: What interacting with your PC could look like in ten years from now.

Microsoft is one of those corporations who are always planning for the future, and they actually just recently hit the 10,000 patent mark.

They've released a video onto the interwebs called the Microsoft's 2019 Future Vision Montage: Envisioning the Future HD, a look at the incredibly simple but also awesomely useful ways we can use technology to interact with the world around us.

It's another take on the pervasive tech that we looked at last week, and this one doesn't involve clunky neck straps either.

While this particular future might not happen verbatim, it certainly has a lot of things going for it (plus a catchy soundtrack), and is well worth a watch.

Thanks to forum user greycat for a heads-up!

Cool gadgetry, but the TED presentation was more impressive. Tech that would actually be workable TODAY >> tech that requires fictional OS/interface/devices/integration.

The privacy implications of the full-blown final version of such technologies are the most worrying part for me.

Nice video - lots of eye-candy :)
I just wish they'd thrown in some 3D holograms.

Let's just concentrate on getting Windows 7 right for now, hey fellas? Once we have a functional, stable, secure OS then maybe we can start looking at Minority Report-esque integration ;)
