OMG, Max Payne 3!!!

Hold on to your cranky face - Max Payne returns this summer, thanks to Rockstar.

Max Payne.

Is there a cooler, more iconic FPS protagonist in PC gaming? We don't think so, and we're damn excited to announce that he's making a return to PCs (and 360s and PS3s) this coming summer from Rockstar Vancouver and Take-Two Interactive.

We've very little story details so far. All we know is that Max is now retired, and not in a good way. He's left New York, been double-crossed, and is alone in a violent city far from home.

We expect a LOT of bloodshed. And slow motion. And squinty voiceovers.

"We're starting a new chapter of Max's life with this game," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "This is Max as we've never seen him before, a few years older, more world-weary and cynical than ever. We experience the downward spiral of his life after the events of Max Payne 2 and witness his last chance for salvation."

Even more cynical? Is such a thing possible?

We can't wait to find out. The official site is now live - and a little bare - but worth keeping an eye on.

You should have seen the HQ when the news came in. I kind of gasped, and then pointed excitedly at the email until Justin and Design_Dave noticed, then we all kinda squee-ed together.

But, you know, in a VERY manly way.

I'm kind of stunned over the fact that Rockstar said they weren't going to make another Max Payne, but after seeing this announcement, theres no other reason but to celebrate. :D

I seriously cannot wait. :D

This is good news - hopefully it will get the recent memory of that HORRIBLE Max Payne movie out of my head...
