Hold on to your cranky face - Max Payne returns this summer, thanks to Rockstar.
Max Payne.
Is there a cooler, more iconic FPS protagonist in PC gaming? We don't think so, and we're damn excited to announce that he's making a return to PCs (and 360s and PS3s) this coming summer from Rockstar Vancouver and Take-Two Interactive.
We've very little story details so far. All we know is that Max is now retired, and not in a good way. He's left New York, been double-crossed, and is alone in a violent city far from home.
We expect a LOT of bloodshed. And slow motion. And squinty voiceovers.
"We're starting a new chapter of Max's life with this game," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "This is Max as we've never seen him before, a few years older, more world-weary and cynical than ever. We experience the downward spiral of his life after the events of Max Payne 2 and witness his last chance for salvation."
Even more cynical? Is such a thing possible?
We can't wait to find out. The official site is now live - and a little bare - but worth keeping an eye on.
