Video:Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising promises truly 'open world modern warfare'.
The original Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis was a relevation to gamers when it was released back in 2001. I remember the launch event fondly, too - a bunch of gaming journalists were trucked out to a Paintball field to play the game, and then take on the PRs and some other folks in a paintball matchup.
Ah, that was a fun day (hint, hint, Atari!).
Now, we're getting just as excited by the upcoming Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, due for release in our Summer.
The game features a full and intense single player campaign, a co-op mode where up to four players can take on the campaign together, and features hyper-accurate weapon and vehicle modelling. The orginal game had excellent ballistics, and we expect even better things from Dragon Rising.
The game will be released on all major platforms (but, really, you'll want this one on PC), and you can keep up to date at the official site.
