The critically acclaimed PS2 game is coming to cinemas. Yay... we think.
Shadow of the Colossus was critically received at its release. As the sequel to the equally thoughtful and artistic Ico, it was a wonderful game that cast you as a bold hero hunting down titanic monsters in order to bring his true love back to life.
And now, it might be coming to a theater near you.
The proposed film has been reported by both Variety and the Hollywood Reporter, and the man in charge of the project is writer Justin Marks - the same scribe behind the recent (and poorly received) Street Fighter film.
This news is a mixed blessing. A really good adaptation of the game could be a brilliant fantasy fairytale, like The Neverending Story, but we fear that the project will end up more like the ill-fated Dungeons and Dragons movie (*shudder*) than The Lord of the Rings.
