Essential Linkage: Must read for all those TF2 players who adore the sniper, and those who don't.

Team Fortress 2, or TF2, was released as part of Valve's Orange Box collection and later released as a standalone game - we loved it when it came out and we're even still playing it!

Any game would get slightly old when it's been out for so long (our review was back in 2007) but thanks to continually updated weapons, achievements and patches it's been rejuvenated quite a few times already.

The Heavy, Pyro, Scout and Medic class have each been given updates - the next on the line according to the TF2 blog is the (very Aussie) Sniper class.

Not only do we get new sniper content, but all classes will get more stuff as well as some new maps to play around in:

It's actually shaping up to be the largest TF2 update yet, with multiple new maps and a bunch of gameplay tweaks. In addition, we've got another update in the works that should be done before the Sniper, and that one will include some new content for all classes.

Thanks to Valve's constant data surveying, we can tell that the Sniper is the seventh most popular class to play according to time spent as that character - with this update there will be so many Snipers flooding servers that you won't be able to step out of cover!

We're looking forwards to another sucessful reinvigoration of the game, and for those who don't play or haven't seen it read our review (linkied at the top) and check out this vid:
