Because the original Rock Band just wasn't family friendly enough.

In a sure sign of the coming apocalypse, Warner Bros Interactive has announced that kids will be rocking out to Lego Rock Band this coming Christmas.

 Well, I love Lego, but I loath the various Lego games, and this just seems the gaming equivalent of that Simpsons gag "Nuts and Gum, together at last!".
